Frequently Asked Questions
The following are typical inquiries of custom furniture customers. For additional questions or comments, using the form on right is the fastest way to reach us. And please feel free to call – but when we’re busy making sawdust, it’s kind of hard to hear the phone ring.
What steps are involved when ordering a customized wood project?
After contacting Balance Works, you will discuss your project directly with a craftsman via email or phone call to clarify and reach a mutual understanding of the project. After the project agreement, an estimate will be given to you. If the estimate seems agreeable, the project will be further scrutinized and Balance Works will send a written quote. The written quote will also contain a completion date** and an invoice number (which is your identification tag). When communicating with Balance Works, always include your “tag number” to clearly communicate the exact project involved.
Upon your approval of the written quote, you will send a 50% deposit to our mailing address below. Upon receipt of your down payment, the assigned craftsman will begin your project. Any additional changes to the written, approved quote must be agreed upon by both you (the client) and the Balance Works craftsman.
How do I get the “ball rolling”?
To get your project started (all requests, big and small, are considered projects), just send an email with a general description of your project. If you have seen something you like and want to copy it, send a photo or web-link. If you prefer, you can also call 1-866-384-2623 and talk with Diane. If Diane is busy at the moment, just leave a call back number and someone will return your call soon. After the initial conversation, determination is made as to whether Balance Works will be a good fit for your needs.
Will I get to see my completed project before delivery?
Depending on the complexity of your project, there may be a lot of correspondence or virtually none until completion. After Balance Works finishes your project, we will send you several pictures of the completed work. Meeting your satisfaction, the project will either be delivered or shipped to you. Upon receipt of your project, Balance Works will request payment for the remaining balance due.
How does Balance Works provide value-added services to me?
We encourage customer personalization by simply allowing you to “think outside of the box”.
At Balance Works, we take the time to understand what you are envisioning. Your project will not begin until the craftsman assigned to you is confident in being able to execute your wood working project. We will not waste your time, either. If Balance Works is unable to help you with your project, we will tell you IMMEDIATELY!
